Meet the Host
Iain Stirling is set to host the latest competitive format on the BBC. The voice of ITV’s Love Island is a comedian who is looking forward to the challenge. Iain Stirling said: “Normally, when I’m asked to get beach-ready, it’s for a very different kind of show! But this one is unlike anything I’ve seen before, and filming in Scotland makes it even more special (and will make attending Hibs games much easier).”
The Concept
Race Against the Tide is a unique show where teams compete against one another by creating sculptures out of sand. Paired with professional sand sculptors, contestants will have to create the most creative and impressive art they can out of the limited materials.
- The show will feature eight sand sculpting duos competing against time on the brand-new reality competition.
- Teams will have to get their work done before the tide comes in, adding an extra level of pressure and excitement.
- Only one team can emerge triumphant at the end of the week and be crowned Race Against the Tide champions.
The Challenges
The show is not just about creating art, but also about working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. The contestants will have to face the time constraint of the tide, which will be lapping in throughout the show.
- The teams will have to work efficiently and effectively to create their sculptures.
- They will also have to deal with the changing weather conditions, such as wind and rain.
- The pressure of the deadline will add an extra layer of stress, but also the excitement of competition.
The Prize
The winning team will be crowned the champions of Race Against the Tide and will take home a prize.
Prize | £10,000 |
Prize | A feature on the BBC website and social media channels. |
