Ambedkar coastal belt. The survey, which began on 1st of July 2023, aims to identify and penalize illegal activities that threaten the coastal ecosystem. The survey is being conducted in collaboration with the APPCB, Fisheries Department, Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) authorities, and the Forest Department.
The NGT has issued a notice to the authorities concerned, including the District Collector, the Revenue Department, and the Forest Department, to submit their reports on the illegal sand mining and aqua ponds. The NGT has also directed the authorities to take immediate action to stop the illegal activities. The NGT has directed the authorities to submit their reports within 15 days.
## Aqua Pond Assessment Survey
A survey is being planned to assess the scale of aqua ponds, the owners, and the quality of groundwater in villages belonging to the three mandals. The officials responsible for the assessment include Joint Collector T. Nishanthi, APPCB Executive Engineer Sandeep Reddy, and Fisheries Joint Director N. Srinivas.
